DESCRIPTION:
They have a distinctive black” mask” around the eyes and black rings around the tail and can weigh from 7- 20kg.
HIBERNATION:
Raccoons are inactive for about four months of the winter during mild winters they become active
HABITAT:
Only males have territories and they overlap with other males. Witch leads to fighting over “females “and territories young raccoons how disperse they must establish their own territories.
DIET:
They eat fruits,berries,nuts,seeds,insects,garbage,frogs,birds,crayfish,grubs and larvae.
BEHAVIOUR:
They are normally nocturnal. However during breeding they are active at day time unless they been disturbed in there resting area could be a sign of illness or disease
